"script": "The prices businesses receive jumped in September. On Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time the Bureau of Labor Statistics said the Producer Price Index for final demand rose 1.3 percent, seasonally adjusted. Final-demand prices had risen 0.5 percent in August and 0.2 percent in July. September's gain is the largest since a 1.7 percent rise in March 2022. Over the 12 months through September the index climbed 6.3 percent, not seasonally adjusted, the largest 12-month increase since 6.4 percent in December 2022. Goods led the month. Final-demand goods rose 2.6 percent, and final-demand services rose 0.8 percent. An index that leaves out foods, energy, and trade services rose 0.5 percent in September and 5.0 percent over the year. The October index is scheduled for November 13. Producer prices are what sellers receive, not the consumer price index released Wednesday.",
